From my limited experiance with 4GB systems, it seems the motherboard is the problem. Gigabyte and Supermicro motherboards allow the operating system to "see" (use??) all 4GB. Intel and Asus motherboards limit it to ~3.5GB. Don't have a logical explanation, but that is what I observered using...

Thanks for everyones input. I ended up using a Supermicro 3U case CSE-932T and a Supermicro PDSBA+ motherboard. Everything is up and running. The operating system and programs are on a 3Ware 8006-2LP in RAID 1. The storage area is on a 3Ware 9650SE-16ML. I installed Server 2003 plus server...

I purchased a Startech CF to PATA adaptor. It is supposed to let you use a CF chip as a hard drive. Supposed to be plug-n-play. I cannot get it to be recognized at all. No hard drive utility can see it. The BIOS does not see it. Do I need to do something to the CF card first. Thanks, Bozo...

The Gigabyte motherboard I have has an option to throttle the CPU back when not being used for much. Maybe yours has something similar and it doesn't recover when needed. Bozo :joker:

Go into Device Manager. Open IDE ATA/ATAPI Devices. Open both the primary and secondary IDE controllers. On the Advanced tab there are drop down menus for the Transfer mode. Make sure they are set to DMA if available. Bozo :joker:

I think it would. Remember, no deductions. For me, after subtracting the first $25000.00, I end up paying close to the same. But, even the people that 'work the system' would have to pay. ( I know a person that makes 3 times what I do, and pays about the same as I do with the present system.)...

I beleive the fairest tax would be a flat tax. No tax for anybody on the first $25000. (Ajusted annually by the inflation rate). After that, every one pays 10% of their income. No deductions at all. A flat 10% for everybody. Bozo :joker:

The tax is not "fair". People that make less than ~$25k per year or are on fixed incomes get screwed royally. Most of these people pay little or no income tax. (SS is taxed BTW). But, in our state, there is no sales tax on food and clothing. The so-called "fair" tax would have these people...
