I can relate by proxy: my son went through the same thing. His mother and I took on extra work to put him in a private school. But he still has scars (emotionally) from that time in his life.

Most states have a law that says you will get 5 years in prison for commiting a crime with a gun. And that is supposed to be on top of the punishment of the crime. Unfortunately, the lawyers and courts usually only give the 5 years thinking that is enough, or they find a loop-hole to put the...
The private ownership of full auto weapons was banned in the USA in 1937. There is a license you can apply for to have one. It cost $500.00 and requires a complete FBI investigation of your soul. The importation of full auto weapons were also banned.
If you really want one, just call your...
Well, take a look at the life styles of the musicians & movie stars; members of the RIAA, MPAA et all, CEOs and directors of the music & movie industry: Seems there are making plenty to me.
Screw them!

Actually piracy doesn't "cost" anything. A file sitting on a server can be copied millions of times at no cost (okay, maybe the electric used)
What the scumbag CEOs and organizations are pissed about is all the money they can't stick in their pockets. Period!
Screw them

I went through the same "fans just start to spin" problem a while back. Turned out to be the memory. Main trouble shooting problem was that it was an intermittant problem.

First look here:

Then go to Start>Run type in msconfig press enter.
There you will find what is starting and it's Registry address.

XCOPY is built into Windows and offers a multitude of option/switches.
SyncToy is a freebee from MS.
RoBocopy is another freebee from MS. Think XCopy on steroids.

The SATA enclosure has a connector for each LED on each drive. The only motherboard that I have seen with 5 hard drive LED connections is a Supermicro. (mine is a P4SCT+II) Plus it has the 'normal' hard drive LED connection. When all is connected properly, the individual LEDs on the individual...
Have you checked for driver/BIOS updates for your motherboard?
Did you try the test in Safe Mode?
Maybe using a different test (ATTO?) would shed some light on the problem.

This is after the fact but: 1-I never run any version of Partition Magic from the OS.
2-I only do one thing at a time. IE: First delete the partition and complete that task. Then expand a partition to fill the unused space.
It takes a little longer and requires extra steps by you, but the...
Of the few RAID 5 rebuilds I've been involved with, you could still access the server, although it was slow. IBMs
The servers with Seagate Cheetahs, there was hardly any slowdown at all. And the rebuild was fast. (Adaptec controller)

I'm not blaming the companies. The artical says that Adobe will not be making available patches for existing software to run on Vista. You must buy new programs.

I have a 3Ware SATA controller card and 3 160GB hard drives. I would like to set these up in a RAID 5 configeration. Only one small problem. I have 2 WD hard drives and 1 Seagate hard drive. I know you are not supposed to mix the hard drives, but has anybody ever done this?
Thanks,

A reply from Intel:
"We have reported issues with the Antech NEO HE series of power supplies and the Broadwater based boards, this is still under validation, and we have no official report yet."
At least it appears I'm not the only one.

When my son was in college we bought everything at the 'student' prices. I never found any of the software to be different than the retail copies.

Just thought I'd pass this along. FWIW
I just install a Intel Pro/1000 NIC in my XP x64 computer. XP found it and installed drivers.
This might have only happened because I had previously install drivers for the Intel motherboard NIC.
But, Device Mangler says they use different drivers.

Buying 'rebuilt' ink cartriges is no different than buying parts for you car. You can go back to the manufacturer or you can go to the parts store. The parts store has excellant replacement parts at considerable savings, but they also have cheap s**t that should be avoided.
Buying Staples or...

But, I think I've found a new pick-me-up. Buy a bottle of your favorite bottled water. Pour the water on your favorite smoking plant 8-) Then refill with Gin or Vodka. That way, it just looks like water while sitting in your cube :-D
Now I can wash down the Excedrin...
I found a small blurb about the power supply issue buried in the "Ratings" coloum at Newegg. This was under the Intel motherboard page. Otherwise I might still be pulling the last 5 hairs out.
Didn't see anything on Intels site.
I'll install Prime 95 tomorrow and let it cook for 12-14 hours...
I removed the fan between the power supply and lower drive cage. I mounted it in front of the upper drive cage. There already was a bracket there for a fan.
I mounted a 80mm fan on the right side of the lower drive cage. It is powered by the motherboard fan connector. That way it is speed...
