Cool! I used a pair of virtual XP installs to play with File and Transfer wizard. Looks like all the programs must be installed on the new computer and it brings the settings, keys and license info over. And, I can burn all this info to a CD/DVD before I trash the old system. Bozo :joker:

    Strange shutdown problem

I have narrowed the shutdowns/lockups to two things that are common to the problem computers. The memory and a software program call Cimplicity. Once the Crucial DDR ECC memory is replaced with standard Crucial DDR memory on the computers running Cimplicity, the shutdowns/lockups stop. Strange...

Did a little research. Seems it is a Detroit Locker (made by Eaton Corp) in the GM trucks. It' option code is G80. Eaton makes two models. The standard mechanical unit and a electrically engaged unit. They have been available for almost 40 years. Back in 1967 they were the prefered rear for...

    Something Random

Big difference between AWD and 4WD. AWD makes power available to all four tires but the one that is easyest to turn gets the most. Most systems monitor the tire speed and transfer the power away from the slipping tire. If you could get 3 tires on dry pavement, and one on ice, the one on the ice...

The Toyota dealer near me just built a truck/suv building. They hired 8 more mechanics. Even considering the amount of vehicles they sell and their percieved quality, the mechanics in the car building should have been able to handle the load. I'm not knocking Toyota. We have some eqiupment at work made in Germany. Some of the German engineers that were here wanted to buy American cars and have them shipped to Germany. They think the German cars are junk. Go figure. One thing that I always like to point out to the Pro German/Japan/Korean fans, is that the...

    Opposites in relationships

Thin men / large women: A lot of women gain weight after having children. Could be hormones or a shift in life style. Men tend to gain weight later in life. More a shift in life style and eating habits. That's a very unscientific observation I've made. Bozo :joker:
