    Guidelines for PC Upgrades

I agree with everyone here, but: You could install a Celeron D 340 (2.93GHz) for $57.00. Do clean install of Win2K. Add the DVD burner. ~$30.00 Bozo :joker:

Ramblings on the brands we love (or hate)

I've always been partial to Crucial and Corsair ram. If you have a MB that is picky about ram, Corsair will work 99% of the time. Of course, you pay for that 99% too. Bozo :joker:

    Intel strikes back

Merc, I ran the pre-SP2 64bit XP for a few weeks. There is a difference with SP2. It's hard to describe. Even Server 2003 seems better with SP2 beta. Maybe it's just me :-D Bozo :joker:

    Intel strikes back

A test computer that I use is 64 bit capable. Putting a clean install of XP 32bit on it with all the patches, loading mundain software (office etc) using it for a few hours then loading XP 64bit with the same mundain software, you notice that the 64bit version is snappier (faster??). You Make The Call: Is It Grounded?

I would say, yes you are grounded, but in a very bad way. The ground is there to take fault currents. If you have a fault or a lighting storm, you could fry a lot of equipment. If all the UPSs are now okay, I would surmise that the grounding sockets are connected to each other, and that the...

How to tell which type of key I have for XP Pro?
