    Lubuntu No Bootu

It's because he was the last "IT nerd" to touch it (even though that was years ago), the failure is his fault, and he now has to fix it... (lots of sarcasm). My guess, family member or close relative.

    Lubuntu No Bootu

Sorry for the short reply, was in a rush... Anyway, it's most likely a corrupt initrd image or filesystem. If it's a corrupt initrd, simply selecting one of the kernel versions (eg 3.3.13-032) should get the system booting... If it doesn't then you've got a corrupt filesystem. In that case...

Going off on a side topic, with mail/package restrictions out of China now in force (for most countries), how long do we think prices for goods at the local stores will remain as they are? (As stock can't be replenished for goods made in China, what is pricing going to be like in 1-3-6 months)...

How to make VMs suck less

Both ESXi and KVM/QEMU support USB pass through (as does VMWare Workstation and VirtualBox on the desktop), but unfortunately there are times when you don't get to choose the hypervisor being used... (eg customer uses HyperV on all their VM servers)... It took me by surprise since most (if not...

How to make VMs suck less

One one to make VMs suck less... Support USB pass-through... Note: Hyper-V (even on Server 2019) doesn't support USB pass through, instead you need to rely on an USB over IP solution...

    Ryzen

If the controller supports NVMe, then it should support 4Kn.... I did find Intel noting support for 4Kn on their RAID controllers on the latest chipset and firmware, but... However, I'm not aware of any SATA based SSDs that are 4Kn (all the ones I have in the office are 512e).

    Ryzen

I would be very surprised if the disk controller didn't support 4kn drives in AHCI mode... As for RAID mode, I don't even think the Intel RAID drivers support 4kn drives in RAID mode. (At least all drives would have to be the same as a minimum, eg no mixing 512 / 512e / 4kn drives, for it to...

OK, There so there are two issues here: 1. Ability to update the contents of the card from a file (increase the balance). 2. Limited write cycle on the current card. I'll attempt to address both separately: Ability to update the contents of the card from a file. This one is pretty easy to...

And I suspect that's why certain authorities are really worried... Is it a case that people in typically what's considered a low risk group are also dying as well? It's just not people in the typical high-risk groups (very young, elderly, immuno compromised, etc).

Not obtaining audio CD metadata (.MP3 Tags) from freedb.org

IIRC, music brainz did have a freedb compatible API endpoint, but it was discontinued about a year ago instead favouring native client support. Best just to try a new ripper with musicbrainz support. (Something that I need to look into myself as the ripper I use (asunder) only supports freedb).

Not obtaining audio CD metadata (.MP3 Tags) from freedb.org

IIRC, The main alternative to freedb is MusicBrainz. The Wikipedia page on musicbrainz has a number of clients that use it instead of freedb, so try one of those to see which one suits your needs best.

I agree 100%. I don't know what it's like in the US, but most companies here use what some may consider misleading warranty statements. I personally was aware of the issue, and may be more of an issuer sooner-than-latter as many cheaper manufactured panels are on the market that don't have the same life as higher-quality panels. (eg need to replace every 5-7 years, rather than every 15-20 years). Also reminds me of the study...
