My hardware is from 2021 and fully compatible with W11. It's a toss up between upgrading my W10 installation and using the massgrave script, or doing a fresh install and then using the massgrave script. MS has been harassing me badly the last few days to upgrade in place.

My version of W10 is upgraded from a technet version of W7. MS does not allow upgrade to W11 from this setup.

I need to get off my ass and move to W11 - my 2021 vintage hw supports it. I'm just dreading doing a complete fresh install of it, the amount of configuring required, and re-installing all the programs. Not a spring chicken anymore, and when you get old, patience is the first casualty.

Looks like dev on DNS666 has stopped effective March 2021; they recommend DNSNet. I do have a Samsung phone. When you say Samsung has an option, is that if the Samsung browser is used? I use Chrome. Where would I find that option?

My working drives are all SSDs, but I have 2 spinning drives in the case. I have a 5.25" power controller to which these are connected, so they are off most of the time. Is a thermal pad required between a heatsink and an M.2 NVME SSD? Doesn't make sense to me. 1. There is no flat, machined surface; only discrete chips with spaces between them 2. The chips are anyway covered with the manufacturer label. Who knows what it's made of.

Done. Tried AOMEI Partition Assistant again, with the Copy OS option. I rebooted and tried to boot from the external NVME enclosure with the bigger NVME. It booted. But this option did not copy the Recovery Partition. So ditched this. Isn't it amazing that clone disk does not actually clone it...
