    Crossfire is driving me insane!

While I know nothing of this SLI/Crossfire business, I do remember reading that unlike SLI, Crossfire needs no dongles or interconnects and "works through the motherboard". From the problems you've described, it looks like your set-up process is out of sequence somewhere (kinda like cart before...

    Compressed air sale at OfficeMax

I'm on the last fifth of my last can of compressed / canned air. Costco's stopped carrying them. They're outrageously priced everywhere. OfficeMax to the rescue. They have 2-pack 10oz cans for $10 with buy one pack get one pack free. That nets to $2.50 for a 10oz can. Stock up!

Even 500W ain't enough for SLI.

I find the situation very amusing. In the data centers, they're screaming about power and air conditioning bills, and manufacturers are trying to address those concerns. In the PC market, current draw and heat are escalating!

Recommend a 17" Flat Panel Monitor

Every 17" LCD I've seen runs at 1280x1024 (the same rez 19" LCDs run at). I would have difficulty with that combination of size & resolution. Your dad might too. Either go for a 15" (1024x768) or 19" (1280x1024) both of which should be comfy for most people.

    2.5" HDD review

I hope I have the same experience, Tannin. I just built a 2.5" external with a Sammy 100GB (HM100JC), the new(?) Is NVIDIA the new VIA?

I'm new to nForce4, but when I was researching them (a few weeks ago) I learned early on not to trust the nForce NIC but to use the Marvell one instead. Also to use the bare minimum of the nForce sw - chipset only, no lan, IDE, etc. I really hope there ain't no onboard SATA / IDE issues. I'm...

    ATX desktops are bad

Case fans should help, provided air's being exhausted. A big problem in standard setups is that much of the hot air just keeps going round and round, gradually building up temperatures in the case. In this respect, in the absence of well-planned and executed airflow, it's better to have negative...

It is an awesome deal, but I read that writes are slow at 9MB/s, unlike reads, which are double that speed. It seems most higher cap flash drives have this problem.
