Wanted: tool to delete undeleteable files

So am I! MoveOnBoot does #3, does it not? In normal Windows mode, use MoveOnBoot to mark the bad file. Reboot, and before Windows "starts", MoveOnBoot moves the marked file so the bad file can't cause any trouble. At this point, since the file is not in use, it should be possible to delete it...

Wanted: tool to delete undeleteable files

Tea: As the name implies, the utility works on the next boot, at boot time. If it moves the file to a different placem, whatever locks it shouldn't be ablt to find it, so it wouldn't be locked. Am I stating the obvious and yet completely missing your point?

New Computer Money just came in

You're wrong, Merc. With two Xeons, he's got two CPUs to do three user tasks (rip, play, browse). With one Athlon, one CPU is switching contexts between the three tasks. Even if all user processes are single threaded, the Windows scheduler makes use of two CPUs. And this is not counting the...

This is exactly what I've been wanting to tell Will, but the little orange one has been very eloquent while I struggled to crystallize my thoughts. I can vouch for Tea's perspicacity (nice one, Time; that one went into my passive vocab many decades ago); I've actually been there, done that, and...

NEWZ: Samsung's Big Plans For Flash-Based Hard Drives

The critical stuff from my data drive is backed up to the other hard drive every night, and periodically to DVD (interval varies; I'm past due now). Some of the stuff, like downloaded programs, is backed up once in a while to DVD. The OS/prgrams partition is periodically imaged to the other...
