When kitty litter gets wet on tile, it turns into a hard, glue-like substance that has to be scraped off with something designed for scraping. When kitty litter gets wet on carpet, it still dries out, but it flakes off easily and can be vacuumed up. I'll take the carpet.

Quick review: Yup, it's a UPS. It didn't explode when I plugged it in. I opened it up and the battery replacement procedure is simple enough. I get more than five minutes of run time out of it for two machines with 500W PSUs and probably a dozen hard drives between them. Looks good so far.

Apropos of nothing, a Chenbro ES34069 is a mini-ITX chassis with 4 hot swap 3.5" bays, an internal 2.5" bay and a slim optical bay. They're sold with 120 or 180W PSUs and make a lovely foundation for a WHS or FreeNAS setup.

It might be worth pointing out that nothing LGA1366 was ever made available at a reasonable price point either. New boards started at about $180 and just went up from there.

The only one that actually belongs to me is tha 7" Galaxy, which wins for me on basis of form factor, since it is primarily an E-reader rather than an internet access device. The devices are all functionally very similar otherwise.

It's definitely a louder when the fans are running full bore. It's low pitched white noise though. Not really disagreeable and easily covered by music.

Using a Prolimatech HSF didn't give me any more overclocking headroom on my game machine, but I've got all 8 cores redlined and the motherboard sensors are reporting temperatures that are around 33C lower. So that's probably a good thing.
