A customer of mine running a nForce2 system would like to get some Bluetooth hookup for his system so that he can connect his phone. Any opinions and/or options?

I've seen bluetooth USB sticks. Never tried, but I think it's the cheapest way to achieve bluetooth communication with a PC.

What's the intended usage? Phone line/modem access for the PC, Internet telephony from Phone to PC to Internet (like Vonage), sync data like contacts between the devices, or other?

I'm waiting for a response from him about this question. However, in his email he basically said, 'I have bluetooth on my cell phone, how can I get the capability on my PC.'

I don't use a cell phone, but I thought that the Bluetooth connectivity was to run hands-free in cars. What else can you do?

Besides hands-free headsets (for when you aren't in your car), it would mostly depend on your phone & what extras it offers. BT headset for listening to MP3s, for instance. My Treo, which is more feature-laden than the average cel phone, can Hot Sync it's info via BT, be a BT Flash Drive, connect to BT GPS units, etc.

This is the one I have:
http://www.targus.com/us/product_details.asp?sku=ACB10US

It is not difficult to install. And is no more difficult to connect to the phone than my bluetooth headset was.

I connect to my phone through BitPim. I mainly transfer ringtones to the phone but I also can backup my contacts and other areas. When I get around to it I'm going to look at Datapilot.
