New source

I hope the layout won't be too massacred because I'm posting this from the office and for an unknown reason (probably something with our firewall), my posts are often messed up when I send them from here.

If the prices showed on this page are any indications, the upcoming E5-v3 will be significantly more expensive than their corresponding ancestors. Additionally, the high-frequency models often are worse than their predecessors if you look at the #cores/frequency/TDP. All this combined and it looks like that except for a few cases, it's not worth it to delay a purchase for this upgrade cycle, in contrast to the cycle before where it was a huge jump from the generation before.

DDR4 support is nice, but as there will be a premium assosciated to it, the investment might not be initially worth it, at least not before it ships in high volume and the prices drop.
