Perhaps "almost" anywhere, but not where I live. Around here, that gets you a condo -- a really small or old condo. You want a house? Shovel out at least $500,000.00. Do you want a new house? Shovel out at least $700,000.00. You want a big tract house, oh around 3,500 square feet? Backup the truck and unload a good $1.2 million or more. My 1,400 square foot attached-on-two-sides condo is going for $549,000.00 plus property tax, association dues, and melarouse.

Here you aren't getting more than 2 baths for under a million. You'd have to drive away from the ocean at least 50 miles before you found crappy homes for that price.

I'm waiting for those 3 or 5 year ARM loans to pass their fixed period and then watch people foreclose as interest rates begin to climb. Back in the mid-80s interest rates were at 11%. If they get near that price again, people will be walking out of their homes and leaving everything behind. At least my bank accounts will finally earn some decent interest.

My parents house is valued at about that much ("Three-Hundred-and-Sixty Thousand dollars")... 4 bedrooms, 3 full +2 half baths, over 3000 square feet.. but that's in Kansas.
