My interpretation is that everyone won!

Sure, sure, you don't live in any of the counties that will foot the bill for California's new deep pockets SF-LA high-speed rail project...voters in those counties don't feel they "won".

The most expensive election outside of the US Presidency, a staggering $74mil was spent on advertising for and against California's voter initiative banning same sex marriages. It was approved by a small majority of the voters, as were similar initiatives in 2 other states, along with one that banned (unmarried) gay couples from adopting foster children. Large protest march yesterday in West Hollywood, gays don't feel they "won" on Tuesday.
