I saw this on bens bargains.

Take the checkered flag and learn about exciting new innovations at the AMD/Microsoft Tech Tour 2005—accelerating towards a city near you.

Attend the AMD/Microsoft Tech Tour 2005 and take advantage of these exciting offers:

$250 USD:
— AMD Athlon™ 64 3200+ 939 pin processor
— Asus A8N-E Socket 939 motherboard
— Microsoft® Windows® XP x64 Edition

$500
— 2 - AMD Opteron™ 246 CPUs
— Tyan Thunder K8SD Pro (S2882-D) motherboard
— Microsoft Server 2003 x64 Edition

I looked up some price and found the following:

Tyan Thunder K8SD Pro goes for $445
AMD AMD Opteron™ 246 CPUs @$328 each
Total price:
$1101 without a copy of server 2003

Sounds like a deal if you have the day to sit around and listen to them speak.

Some updates:

One person from slickdeals has already attended in chicago (June 2nd) and confirmed the 3200+ is a Venice core (model is: ada3200daa4bp)

The parts come in retail packaging.

You pick up your goods after dinner, and the overal event isn't that bad.

If you're concerned about the URL, the link comes from AMD's website:
http://www.amd.com/techtour

I'm considering buying both systems and selling off the parts.

I would definitely be attending and buying, if it wasn't a 6 hour drive to the closest one :)

Too bad I just heard about this now; too late for the Chicago show. :( I'd have taken a day off work to attend.

I'd grab either deal, but the duallie would be my preference. That's quite a bargain.

Agreed. It would take me a bit over 12 hours to get to the closest one.
