Well, it's Thanksgiving, and , things are going well but, no company.

More later. Tonight, I was in the mood to be Santa, and, I took a ride down to the local store. I've pretty much gone from 2400 a month, to maybe 5000 a month, starting tomorrow, for the rest of the year.

I was in the mood to tip, like a bottle of Dom P. 89.

Cab driver said he didn't drink champagne, and asked if I was thinking of a swap for fair. No, I was thinking of a Xmas, Thanksgiving tip, but, now it's in the frig. He still got a 15 dollar tip, on a 15 dollar fair, but, he won't know what he missed, but I will.

I should elaborate. This time of year, @ the Shadowbrook, a guy named
Chase came in. He had a party of 6, and, thanks to my wine expertise, he spent 6700 dollars. He rounded it off to something like an even 8 grand. While the tip is still probably the best ever, at the Brook, the jealousy, and the bullshit, had a lot to do with me leaving.

So, a 140 dollar tip for me, at this time, is sort of normal...

Location
I am omnipresent
There's a non-chain-store sub shop not far from my apartment that has $99 bottles of Dom Perignon on the menu... the next most expensive item is $7.

They said they sell about a bottle a month.

The funny part is I've lost my taste for champagne, and alcohol more or less in general.

I find the champagnes, and wines in general, too acidic, and lacking richness and complexity. Every once in awhile I find something reasonably priced, but that's very rare.

I've always liked Dom, since prior I felt regardless of age, it was still excellent. Not this time. 1998.

Great champagnes tend to become richer, and fuller, with less acid, more fruit comes forward, and better balance, as they get older. However, the style seems to have changed, and acid seems to be associated with good.

I can't afford the great champagnes, long aged, so, I may just by a bottle of Cheatau D'Yquem, to see if it has changed styles...
