Somewhere in time.
Because I'm on W2k. This was for a Dell I inherited with a failed hdd. I made it my daughter's game machine, transferring the W98 install from the older machine she had. Wanted to install the Dell Win-XP CD (pre-SP1) so she could dual boot (Enacrta etc. on XP). Wanted to make it current first. Don't have access to an XP machine. The SP extracts, then the Updater dies with an out-of memory error. nLite clearly says SP2 needs to be done on an XP m/c. I tried a manual update, same problem. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

That is correct. I run into that problem, too. I wind up doing my slipstreams on my classroom PCs.

Do you want a slipstreamed disk? I can probably mail you a VLK one. My one retail disk has a big ol' scratch on it.

VLK = Volume License Key. The kind you get for buying more than 5 copies of Windows at a time, that doesn't do activation.

Sadly, I don't think it'll work with the key from a Dell...
