Convert Quicktime to something decent

OK, I've recently come into posession of a whole bunch of .mov files that won't play in anything but Quicktime4, which has to be the crappiest movie player ever made. Certainly the worst interface.

Anyone aware of software that'll convert quicktime to any other movie format?

If you want to convert it to an MPEG use TMPGEnc.

You can also try Terran Mediacleaner. There is not a single video file it won't losslessly convert or recompress from one format to another.
