tried to describe the problem as best I could in the title. IBM Intellistation w/Adaptec AHA-2940 U2B. Dead CMOS battery caused default BIOS settings. Now when I try to boot I get "1801:pCI/PNP ERROR-NO SPACE AVAILABLE TO SHADOW ROM" -this exact error appears on the IBM website search-but for servers running 2 cards (their fix won't work). I'm assuming the SCSI BIOS won't load because the memory space settings are incorrect. If I unplug the host card and drive it boots to a message stating "OS not found". Anyone have any suggestions as to where I might look? IBM support is $149 per incident- that's not much less than I paid for this Intellistaion M Pro- it ran sweet until this. Any help appreciated- thanks.

I'd pretty much need screenshots in of your BIOS to be much help. But if possible you could turn off things like Video BIOS Shadow or System BIOS cacheable... but I doubt those are settings that would be exposed in an IBM BIOS.

Your correct Merc, not likely exposed. But it probably has a reset to default settings. My guess is that it didn't reset to its defaults (and was most likely configured to the defaults) but rather to zero's when it booted up with the new battery.
