Well...it looks like we're going through some 'reorganizing' here at work and my department will become part of an organization when will leave me (us) without much of a career path. Time for me to start soliciting jobs in other parts of my company, I guess. I guess this job really was too good to be true.

I need to update my resume but the templates built into Word just kind of suck. Does anyone know where I can get some better resume templates to look at? Preferably, they would be geared toward engineering but I'd be happy to look at anything just for ideas...

On a positive note...I just finished up my Masters in Engineering Management this semester. Yay! Timing could not be better I guess....

Thanks,

C

In a technical communication/business writing class I took some people used templates, but the resumes that looked really good were made from scratch.

An empoyer might find that templates make it easier to pick out important bits of information, but as a prospective employee you want to make sure you highlight ALL your strengths, some templates might not allow you to do this well.

Perhaps modifying/improving a template to meet your needs is the best solution for most people.

You might like to take a look at the office template gallery for some ideas... http://officeupdate.microsoft.com/templategallery/
