There are sick, sick people in the world.
The remake of the Texas Chainsaw movie reminds me that the real-life story of Ed Gein has spawned three of the most memorable villians in movie history (Buffalo Bill from "Silence of the Lambs", Norman Bates from "Psycho" and the Texas Chainsaw guy, Leatherface). If anything, the real story is even more stomach turning than those in the movies.
Here in my neck of the woods, I found out one of my co-workers doesn't live too terribly far from where Belle Gunness committed her crimes, almost a century ago.

I saw a bit of the proceedings on TV as the charges were read and he entered his plea. I was sruck by the complete lack of emotion on his face as he did so. He was calm and collected as each charge was read following intently on his copy of the documents. No sign of any feelings of fear, remorse, shame or even embarrassment on his part. A true physcopath if you ask me.
I read book about the Green River Killer several years ago. I had thought they would never catch this monster. What is surprizing to me is that the media has paid so little attention to this guy or to the killings before now. Apparently this guy just doesn't appeal to the media the way Ted Bundy or Jeffery Dahmer did. Strange world ain't it?
Glad they got him. But I don't give him long to live once he reaches the big house.

Both Dahmer and Bundy had a stronger sexual element to their predation. The Green River guy killed prostitutes because he didn't like them which, OK, that's slightly sexual, but it's not like the Dahmer fascination with sex zombies (he liked to pour acid into the skulls of his still-living victims.)
Interesting how the really, REALLY twisted murderers are from Wisconsin. Must be the tap water or something.
