How the front page news works

If you find a good news article, just start a new thread in the news forum and I will be given a notification to validate the new thread.

You will not see the thread immediately because any thread posted in that section appears on the front page and I want them moderated only so that spammers don't abuse it. Once validated, your new post will appear on the front page.

If you’re posting a news reference, please include the source URL for folks to link to. Feel free to quote a small part of it if you like. Once the thread is visible, people should be able to post in the thread to make comments.

Do you think it would be a good idea to give admin rights to some people in other time zones so that news can be updated around the clock, for instance when you are at work or asleep?

Yes, that was my plan; I just haven't done it yet. I was going to give the privileges to moderators so any of them can approve the news.
