Ok, this is an odd one. I moved not too long ago and now have Bright House Networks cable (RoadRunner) instead of Comcast. There are certain times where certain websites are basically unreachable.

For example, right now, I for all intents and purposes can't get to www.costco.com The page loads, but very slowly. It might take 30+ minutes to load the front page. I've noticed this on other sites as well (like www.uploaderx.net). Beyond ping and tracert, what can I use to try to figure out where the problem is? I know it's bound to be somewhere in RoadRunner's network, but my calling and telling them that costco.com is loading slowly isn't going to get me any sort of resolution. I need more information to throw at them.

Ideas?

Tracert is the tool to use and that they will understand thereby giving creedance to your complaint.

Perhaps this is the first indications of "tiered" internet service? You want the big high bandwidth sites to load fast you need to pay more $$.

I am omnipresent
Someone I built a PC for a few months back was telling me she had similar issues - she couldn't get to expedia.com or llbean.com when she was using a local DSL service, though on Comcast or Verizon she was fine. DNS issue? Nope. Her's resolved the same way. Spyware? She didn't have any. Traceroutes looked the same.

I was at a loss, but since she is moving anyway, the issue was dropped.
