Quick Question Please !!! Win2000 Pro VLK

I received this VLK (volume license) version of Win2000 Pro to install on a customers site and I did not receive a COA (certificate of authenticity) that commonly has the install key on it.

Does the Win2000 VLK need an install key from a COA?

Hmm, what I have her is part number B23-03950 which aparntly is a media kit sold for VLK's. Sells for about $25.

I am thinking this is not legit without an actual VLK, would like someone to confirm that though.

Yup. You need keys.

If your customer already has a VLK, you can recover it off one of their other machines with the Belarc Advisor. Or, you know, ask someone who has some spare licenses or something. Cough.

Funny part is the guy probablly thought he was getting a steal at that price.

What about just reburning it with the setupp.ini's PID number changed to xxxxx270 and not screw around with keys whatsoever?

That's interesting Groltz, I didn't know about that. Unfortunately this is going on a customers site, and I am not going to let the salesman slide this by on us.
