I have a Nexstor18f and a Nexstor8f. I have been using the 18f exclusively (18 fibre channel drives) now I have brought the 8f online (8 additional fibre channel drives) the problem is that the 8f pushes the 18f drives from being /dev/sda-/dev/sdr up to /dev/sdi-/dev/sdz this plays hob with all of the various settings for RAID and other disk related operations and brings the system to a standstill. How can I force the 18f to be id'd first and the 8f second, or, hard set the identifiers so it makes no difference? oh, I should add they are connected via a 16 channel Brocade fibre switch, unfortunately I don't have the needed zoning license to just set them to different zones.

Thanks,

Mike

I discovered the switch does support zoning so I configered two zones, placing the servers and the drive array I have been using in one zone and the other array in a second zone. That fixed it.

Thanks.
