I'm not quite sure why it isn't entitled, "National Geographic's How People Are Ruining Planet Earth Real Quick Like."

Its pretty amazing how quickly we are impacting the composition of the world (although those familiar with the mechanics of exponential growth models really shouldn't have any reason to be surprised). The problem is elucidating these facts to the great hoard. Necessary changes are going to have to come soon. Its going to be such a formidable challenge given so much goes against the element/mentality of selfish ambition that is so ingrained in current culture (for example, the "I must drive, and have the right to drive, an SUV") -- I have severe doubt that developing policy and instilling these necessary changes can be accomplished in so little time - both here in the west AND globally.

Irregardless of whether the alleged reply of Chief Seattle is legitimate or not, its about time we, as a species, wakeup and realize that "the earth does not belong to man, man belongs to the earth".

How many people know that dandelions and honey bees aren't native to North America?

How many people actually believe that Kentucky blue grass is from Kentucky?

People have so internalised the incorrectness of the world, that many wouldn't even know if it was wrong.
