i recently recieved a promo usb drive which is partially formated as a cd drive to autoplay a video. since i'm done with the video i wanted to convert the usb drive to my own use, but the cd drive takes up a good portion of the space. i have checked in a few other forums and have found no answers to how i might reformat the entire drive as a whole, so if anyone can help me i would greatly appreciate it.

Pretending for a moment that you're using an NT-ish version of Windows, go to Control Panel (Classic View, if you're using XP), Administrative Tools, Computer Management, Disk Management, right click on whatever disk number it is, and choose Delete or whatever the hell the option is. Then, right click on it again to repartition/reformat it to your heart's content.

If you're using Windows 9x, um... take it to an XP computer and do it.

If you're using *nix, the best instructions are going to vary with your distribution and level of expertise.
