I'm helping to sell off my friend's stock of used receipt meters from the rate change this past April. Before putting anything on eBay I want to see how many people here would be interested in owning a piece of NYC history.

These are genuine New York City receipt taximeters in working condition, complete with paper and authentic New York grime. They saw years of heavy use but were not able to be updated to the new rate for technical reasons (i.e. they are obsolete). They are still functional and are set at the old rate. We'll include a harness and wiring instructions. If you want to purchase a adapter pre-wired to the harness to run it at home we will include it at $25 extra. If you have your own 12V power source you can power it yourself, or even put one in your vehicle.

Most of our used meters are Pulsar Model 2010:

The receipt is the small thing in the upper left corner. Here is a better picture:

Asking price is $75 each. It will take a few weeks (at most) to get everything ready to start selling. No need to pay until we're ready to ship but if you're interested let me know and I'll reserve whatever quantity you want. Also let me know if you want an adapter. When the pre-sale is over the remainder are going on eBay at $100 per.

We have roughly 100 used meters of all types. I'd say about 75% are Pulsar Model 2010s and most of the rest are Argos. Hopefully I'll be able to put up a picture of an Argo later this week or next.

Since I'll be getting a certain percentage for selling these I might be able to take an equivalent value of computer parts I need (mainly double-sided 256 MB PC133) in trade, at least for the first few. After that, all transactions are cash or cash equivalents (PayPal, personal check, Yahoo!PayDirect). I won't be handling the shipping but I'm pretty sure we can ship internationally for those of you overseas who want a piece of the Big Apple.
