I'm new to the musicals, so tonight was the first time going to one. This was a (late) birthday gift to my GF, so I took her to see the play RENT at the Wang Theatre in Boston.

I love the music, and everyone has fantastic voices. The story was hard to follow sometimes; I have a hard time hearing the lyrics in music for whatever reason. I don't know where this plays makes it rounds, but if it is ever in your area, I recommend seeing it!

There is a nice mix of comedy, love, and sadness. The song "Seasons of love" is one of the more popular pieces, and also a favorite of mine. Hearing it live was great in comparison to my small speakers on my desk!

Here is the official web site for the play, but it requires flash.

Honestly, you might be interested to know that Rent is adapted from a Puccini opera, one widely considered one of the greatest of all time - "La Boheme".

La Boheme's first act is an absolute triumph. Really. Lovely, lovely stuff.

The have a song right before act two named La Vie Boheme/I Should Tell You. Coincidence, perhaps not. :)
