Hmm, the US regime stops Maxars delivery of satellite images to Ukraine. That means any service from US companies can be disabled at any moment to extort foreign countries or organisations.

The only upside in this situation is that the leaders of Europe are waking up, spending more on defence for example. This (the waking up part) should have happened at least 3 years ago.

I can report that the son is happy with the B580. It is not super amazing but still good performance, especially for the price. Not a bad buy at this point in time.

The card is in the mail, perhaps swedes are a bit slower or they went after the Asrock and Sparkles, which seem to have better cooling and so on. It would be really nice if Intel levelled up on the integrated GPUs. Perhaps in a generation or two? (With the AI-stuff beeing so popular and all?)

I ordered a B580 for the son. IIt will join a 11700 (maybe K) and 32 GB RAM. And he uses a 1080 monitor, so it should be enough.

I know, it makes the HW price almost irrelevant. =) And if you license all physical cores with EE you can run as many VM:s as you want with EE on that machine. So you can potentially cram a bit more out of it, vs Standard Edition where you have to license every core in every VM. But I'm also...

The 9575F looks amazing. But I will dream sweet dreams about a 9175F in SQL Server tonight, 16 cores @ 4.2 - 5 GHz and 512 MB L3... :)

My only comfort is that I don't have to use Citrix, like most people in the organisation. LOL. I cannot agree more about Outlook, and on my previous laptop I couldn't be in teams meetings when the AV was scanning, not sure if it was a feature or a bug. Then, maybe the bad performance is not...

Even if we had 32 x 6 GHz cores and 1TB of RAM developers would make software that makes the OS lag... more bloat, new frameworks, new versions of Teams and Outlook with AI and whatnot... My sons computer feels pretty fast but he doesn't have Teams or Outlook installed. But every other computer...

I am also curious what's in the NAS boxes. :) Do you have different data tiers? For example one NAS with Optane Enterprise disks for high performance, one with larger volume normal SSD:s, one with spinning disks for huge volumes of historical data?
