I actually have looked at Davids, so I have some idea what they are capable of. I'm just a bit shocked at the increase in quality, considering my TV's specs.

    Reasons to Root your phone?

Of course. The ideal would be to start with what I have, a pretty much stripped down version of Googles' near latest operating system, then add items as you need them. The best way to do that would be get a phone from Google, and run it on Fi. The problem is the limited phones they offer both...

MMGR did a LOT of work, and knows far more then I do about Android phones, and made all this stuff work on my model phone. Awesome work! If for no other reason, that is a reason to root your phone. To take advantage of experts in the field that know what they are doing, and do the work to make...

    Reasons to Root your phone?

Uninstall uses root access but, it is better at letting you know what you can get rid of, and can't. Plus it hasn't bugged out, and deleted a bunch of stuff in a loop. To be real, aren't that many apps that you can get rid of, safely. Turns out rooting is better for extending battery life...

    Reasons to Root your phone?

Fun with rooting. I deleted a few functions I liked through RomToolbox Pro, and wanted them back. So, since I was having a hard time finding a stock replacement Rom, I went down to my local SR Sprint store. I told the manager what had happened, and he said a factory reset would fix it. We did...

    Reasons to Root your phone?

I was a root user without Supersu, which makes you sort of not a root user, and, limits program functions, maybe. Somehow, in the Rom Toolbox loop, Supersu was deleted. It's now been replaced, so we'll see if RTP actually works to restore the functions I lost from the system. Noteably I can't...

Also learned you can get stuck in Rom Toolbox Pro and end up deleting a lot of stuff, and not being able to get out of the program. Using Titanium Backup to try and get all the stuff back that was deleted.

    Financial on phone companies?

One of the tools to use if your getting a good value on your purchase is what are the profits and financial statements of the companies you are buying products from? My view is I want the lowest profit company, in that area of product, that is still well designed. So, does anyone have figures...

    Project Fi

Odd as this may sound, being on the cutting edge of phones has some real disadvantages. Rooters haven't worked out a fool proof way of rooting on most new devices. I'm not at all convinced that the value for a cutting edge phone is there. The market is really weird. I paid 140 dollars for my...

    Project Fi

600 spread over two years would be 25 a month. That, plus the Fi useage bill makes it pretty much a wash with my current Sprint bill @55.00 with everything on it. Plus I don't have to fork over 650 dollars up front.

    Project Fi

Hi DD suggested project Fi for power users. So far, here is my evaluation: Rates: 20 flat unlimited, Data for 10 @ 1GB. Potential to cut my 55.00 a month Sprint bill in half, but, doesn't include taxes, and extra charges. DD, can you ask your inlaw that has Fi what kind of extra charges...

You have a point. I'm using Chainfires' files https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/ To do a basic Root, and they work very well. However, certain phones are not yet supported. Kind of wondering why you didn't go with a Nexus 6, and google's network you suggested?

    Reasons to Root your phone?

I looked into rooting my Mega about a year ago. It was not easy, nor was it perfected by any means. I would look into what sort of reviews your particular phone gets on being rooted. Reasons to Root your phone?

That's the problem. Without rooting, a lot of pre-installed software starts on startup, and can't be removed, or turned off. Rooting gives you the ability to remove a lot of stuff you couldn't, and or use a program to shut it off, or freeze it, and keep it from starting.

    Reasons to Root your phone?

Actually not without root access. With Sprint, Verizon, T Mobile they load a lot of crap you can't turn off without rooting. Plus, programs that can control this stuff, can't do it, without root access. Odin works just fine. Have to research your phone. If you want to use Verizon or sprint...

    Reasons to Root your phone?

Bottom line is with all the junk Samsung and Sprint put on my phone, I have to car charge it daily. Rooting it, and freezing, or deleting their added, junk, cpu and battery eating software, the phone will last for days with the 3200 battery. Without that, I would be looking at a Mugen, huge...
