    Cheap unlocked processors?

I've got 12 gigs of ram, 1366. I should be able to crank an Extreme i7 near 4 ghz. They are 1000 dollars or so. The advantage of not having to alter anything but the cpu frequency and voltage are huge for me. It's unlikely with that much ram, that I'll be able to OC if I have to change the ram...

I used that because I was in shock when I saw the add this morning. My initial reaction was more obscene. That was cleaning it up;-) However, if a moderator would like to take it down to one question mark, to keep Timwhit happy, I'd be fine with that. Also no problem taking the ONE word...

When you use VMware, do you sometimes run out of disk space? Fedora wouldn't install from disk, so I downloaded an 'appliance', complete with setting and a single core kernal. I've got a download that won't work because the OS partition is nearly full. I am slowly trying to clear stuff out...

I agree. Kingspec, from China on ebay, are 170 MB/sec, 32 gig SATA, for 100 bucks. Even the slow, 32 MB/sec PATA Kingspec is a huge speed improvement, overall, over the PATA 7200 rpm drive it replaced, that has faster STR, but MUCH slower access time. That was also 100 bucks. If you shop...
