Thanks Handy. I got the pw reset email, but when I clicked on the link, it went to SF where the page said "Oops! Something went wrong. Request pw reset again" or some such. So I did, and it worked this time.

How do I create a fresh user account? Just create a new user? I uninstalled as much as I could; it keeps insisting a reinstall will fix things. After uninstall, I deleted most Registry entries that had Firefox or Mozilla in their names. Re-installed. Mixed results. SF loaded fast. Other...

This started happening recently. I'll try a complete uninstall of FF and full re-install. For DNS over HTTPS, I even set it to Off, made no difference. Any time it needs to look up is when it chokes. For info, CPU is a Ryzen 9 5900x 12 core, 64GB of RAM.

32 secs to load ARS Technica. It spends most of the time "Looking up ARS Technica.... Chrome loads ARS in under 1 sec. Same PC.

There's a gazillion different meds for BP; what suits one person won't suit another, that's why. Weight loss helps in numerous ways, but is so hard to achieve.

Didn't make any difference, Merc. About 15 seconds to load SF. If I come back to SF from another website, it loads in a couple of seconds. Don't know if this is a clue. Same behavior with all other websites.

Maybe an update did it, but for the past few weeks FF has been extremely slow. Takes minutes to load a web page. Chrome does it in under a second. I uninstalled and re-installed but that didn't help; though it did say it is preserving my settings, bookmarks etc. I don't remember seeing an option...

My hardware is from 2021 and fully compatible with W11. It's a toss up between upgrading my W10 installation and using the massgrave script, or doing a fresh install and then using the massgrave script. MS has been harassing me badly the last few days to upgrade in place.

My version of W10 is upgraded from a technet version of W7. MS does not allow upgrade to W11 from this setup.

I need to get off my ass and move to W11 - my 2021 vintage hw supports it. I'm just dreading doing a complete fresh install of it, the amount of configuring required, and re-installing all the programs. Not a spring chicken anymore, and when you get old, patience is the first casualty.
