Merc, I've owned VMWare Workstation from the 2.x days thru ver. 4.x. I take it the free VMWare server is not much different? The free VMWare server is on an http server, and I have been unable to download it. After about 60 MB, it craps out and in the meantime I've used that much bandwidth...

MS should have released Win2003 as an interim product between XP and Vistsa (priced at XP levels). I would have bought that instead of XP. Grrrrrrrrr.

I hope you're doing this on the side (not quitting your day job and your side-business). I do remember reading a few years back that MS had gotten a sudden attack of magnanimity and had offered to sell Windows at cut-rates directly to non-profits / charities. You may want to look into that...

I don't know, Merc. I bought my Sony DVR in early 2003, and it has worked flawlessly for the purpose. Olympus has a very good name in DVRs; maybe you should take a thorough look at them since you feel strongly about Sony.
