    Port forwarding/redirection

Nope. Default for "Default Web Site" to listen on 80 for all interfaces, as long as the server and the site are both running (I think they are, or you wouldn't be able to connect internally). You don't have any Remote Access Policies in place that might keep routing from happening, do you? Why...

    Port forwarding/redirection

Does your host have a static or dynamic IP? Is the hostname registered with DNS? Are you using DDNS? Is HTTPd configured to use the internet interface, or are your internal IPs all non-routable? Is the server you're trying to reach on port 80? Inquiring minds want to know.

"Two Roads Diverged in a Yellow Wood..." At this point, I don't think I care what the real world is. The moment I look away from a computer screen or the pages of my books, the moment I turn down my music and listen to something not generated by the stacks of electronics that surround me, I...

    Review of new Toyota Prius

Chicken farms are a billion times worse. I'm not kidding. Until age 14 I lived in Central Illinois farm country. Cow crap you get used to. Pig crap you get used to. Chicken farms from 1/2 mile away smell worse than being sprayed by a skunk.

In the case of the latter link, I was as circumspect as could be. There were boundries. I don't believe they were crossed. Bill changed the image in question. It was a picture of two models holding CDs up to check their makeup. It might seem humorless to some of you but really, if you were a woman employed in IT, and you saw the picture in question on this site, would YOU want to hang around here?

Red Sox's coach is a complete imbecile!

Whatever you all are whining about, it has nothing on the sheer hate being cast at the guy who ruined game 6 for the Cubs. I mean, I've spoken to 60ish grandmothers who were wishing painful deaths on that poor guy.

    Online IQ test

I think describing intelligence as the ability to reason misses the mark, substantially; it discounts the other factors that make up the mind, to say the least. Everyone knows what I mean when I talk about "Rain Man"-type individuals. Idiot-Savants. Are those people truly intelligent, or is...

    Online IQ test

Like maybe the test is too easy? It's also possible that the reason is that the folks here are mostly a couple of standard deviations away from the mean to begin with. Tannin would probably have some interesting things to say about this stuff, with the statistical nature of IQ scoring. IQ is...

Visionary Philosopher according to that test. No comment on my score. I actually know my IQ, and I question the value of using a 40-question exam to assess it, but I can accept that it's at least as good as a lot of other "Know your IQ" self-administered tests. I'll just say that there was a...

[NEWS] - Maxtor validates 175GB platters.

I was refering to the 3.5 to 5.25 adaptors that a lot of cases would have to use to fit in a HH hard disk. I can do without a floppy, but since a lot of cases only have 2 3.5" bays, I think a lot of other people might have a problem with that.

That's pretty much how I do things. Sort of. Usually there's a lot of people complaining with major_package_X isn't working with RedHat. A lot of time, I work with the tar.gz's rather than RPMs. The instructions tend to work better and are more adaptable; there's not much of a chance that...

IIRC, Maxtor is the only company to actually adopt the ATA/133 designation. Everybody else calls their drives ATA100. This is semantics. If it's bigger than 128GB, it needs LBA48 support. Large numbers of Firewire and USB2 enclosures do seem to have a 120GB limit. Some newer models advertise...
