Based on my brief experiences with an 8800GTX in a P180, I can say that the area of the side panel next to the card gets warm enough that I don't want to touch the case with my leg. It's not out and out hot, but it's uncomfortably warm. I am thinking we need to get AWAY from that kind of heat.

I'm already using the lowest memory divisor I can. The board is a rev. 3.3 and yes I know how Gigabyte hides the overclocking options. I wish I could make that the default display. The F10 BIOS for the DS3 has been out since January, apparently.

Generally they don't boot with 4 sticks while you're overclocking.

No. Temps are good OK-ish. I'm guessing it's memory that's the issue, but the DS3 links RAM and FSB speeds so I can't do much more about that. However, it's been stable @ 3.8 so I don't really have any reason to complain.

OK, new record: GA-P965-DS3 + E6320 (1.5V) + 2GB OCZ DDR2/1066 RAM + Coolermaster Gemini II + 2x 1200rpm SilenX fans = 4112MHz. It wasn't stable but it got all the way through a Windows install before it crapped out. Just never saw a four in the thousands place before. :D

The nForce boards I have seen have an option buried someplace in the BIOS to turn off the hardware firewall. I haven't seen an nForce board yet that had it on by default. Of course, all I've used are Gigabyte and a small number of MSI or Biostar boards, so maybe there is different stuff out there.
