Why are you bothering with DDR2-800? I tend to set up HTPCs using the MythTV model: The computer by the AV components has to be good enough for playback, but there can be a back end someplace else for storage and transcoding.

DDR2 prices were actually lower than DDR until about a week before AM2 was released. They've been unreasonably high ever since.
