The last three nights, one of my USB controllers has gone offline in the middle of the night, knocking 4 of my 8 disks offline. The first two times, I was able to get it working again with mdadm -A /dev/md0 -f /dev/sd[hgeflkji]. I tried that this morning and it's not working. Any ideas...
I have a large Raid6 array built using mdadm with 6 components, each 2TB, making the array size around 8TB. Recently, there was a storm, and after a restart Ubuntu's Disk Utility says the state of the array is "Not running, partially assembled".
I tried the following
$ sudo mdadm --assemble...
My Snap Server 410 Crashed, and while I have good backups it's probably going to be 48hrs+ to get the data off of the tapes.
I've got the arrays built, but I think I'm missing something.
cat /proc/mdstat

So this is what happened... I noticed that my MDADM RAID 5 array with drives ordered: /dev/sd[EFGHIABCDKJ]1 reported a failed drive -- /dev/sdb1. I stopped the array and ran smartctl -t long...
