Hi

I have ended up as Dad to a feral cat, "Alice Capone".

She's a little less then two pounds, about a foot long, and smarter then a whip.

Black, with white spats, and, proving the theory that cats are VERY inquestive.

I think, part feral, perhaps part wild, like wild cat, lynx, she's VERY smart.

I've been trying to teach her how to hunt, but she's having a hard time holding the rifle, and pulling the trigger ...

However, she can smell about 100 times more then I can see, or hear, and her instincts for fighting are so good, I'm sure we are the inferior spieces.

If Mike Jordan could jump like this...

That said, she's VERY tough, and, if you saw my arms and legs, I can yell domestic violence...
no problem.

For her, she's just playing, and, she's getting to the part where she knows claws in, vs. claws out, and clothes on, vs. naked skin.

Suffice to say, prior, she would climb us like trees, clothing no object. She's getting to the point where she'll now jump, no claws, on my legs, and slide down, rather then using claws...
on naked legs....

It's amazing the way she looks at the same reality I do. She views places to jump as platforms, and reality as a place that is governed by kenetic energy, as she flys around the room....

Time for us to play...

The first picture that came to my mind was Greg on all fours with a freshly slain Norway rat clenched in his teeth.

NORWAY rats?

Hmmmm. That brings to mind me shooting wharf Rats, in Capitola, with a 22lr rifle. 8 inches of rat with 22 shorts, out of a 22 inch barrel.

REAL rats require a REAL rifle: 375 H&H at least. I may trade in for a 458 Lott/ACkley for the task...

Sadly I have to hand in my .45 Compact 1911 to the benevelont Australian mis-government by the end of the year. The reason? Because Victoria Police were frigging negligent in giving a pistol permit to a non-english speaking nutcase who then proceded to murder two people at Monash Uni last year. It's like banning all V8 cars because some young crim stole one from someones garage and did a drink drive and killed an innocent family. It just doesn't make sense. Sadly there is no such thing as individual responsibility in Aus anymore, only the socialist "Greater Good". Ironically it's a Norinco clone of a Colt (made in Communist China by the evil military-industrial complex). I will be lucky to get AUS$260. Interested Greg? It's got an extended Wilson slide release, Millet sights, rest is stock. 4 and 5" barrels.

"Think of the children!"

And of course this "buy-back" (how can the government buy back something it never owned in the first place?) doesn't cover any of the ammo I have, so I am stuck with projectiles, cases, primers and powder for a gun I can't own.

BTW, it shows the old adage of "Registration always precedes Confiscation" has been found true yet again.

Prob around US$200. AUS dolla is pretty strong right now. Shipping would be additional, and it would have to go direct to an FFL holder. The dealer would prob need to apply for an import form, depends on whether he does many international transactions I guess. Prob be easier to just hand it in to be crushed in a machine press :(

I could ship the empty cases, but can't ship primers or powder. Projectiles wouldn't make sense because shipping would be more than they're worth.

Most of the cases are Starline, and all bright and shiny (tumbled after each use).

Mostly I need .45 long-colt but I'll check around for interest.

Prof Wizard. To what address, and how do I send them? With the email system here, I can't figure out how to add an attachment...lame, I know.

Pradeep: I know it's horrible the way they take away freedoms based on a case of bad facts. Bad facts make for bad law.

We currently have a situation due to shipping monopolies, and Federal law, requiring tariffs on interstate transfers, that interfer with Commerce, yet they continue, against the Commerce Clause of the Constitution.

I can't ship ammunition from Hawaii, without the cost being so much it isn't worth doing.

I suspect trying to ship your Norinco would be similar, and by the time I added up the Federal tariff, shipping cost, license, etc. it would be more then you are asking for the gun.

I'd just find some radical terrorist and sell it to him. I'm sure your handgun laws won't bother them, as all our laws do is keep guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens, and making them criminals if they desire to protect themselves.

I live a 20 minutes from Richmond, and Oakland, the two murder capitals of Kalifornia, and pretty much the US, yet I can't protect myself without breaking the law.

I really believe the best solution is to make being in government financially unattractive, and part time. Make it like Texas: Government meets and functions for only three months, and it's a part time job.

Saves money, and slows the inevitable errosion of freedoms that result from a group of full-time zealots that think they know what is best for everyone, rather then following the Constitution they swore to uphold.

You decide. But to make them easily viewable for online projection not more than 1024x768 and the size less than 200K per image, if possible.

11-12 weeks at this point.

She gets into everything, and is very demanding of attention.

If I'm on the computer, she jumps up, and lays down on top of it until I get done, or, sticks her nose over, and jumps onto the keyboard while I'm typing.

She climbs from ground to ceiling on screen doors, and then jumps on the
curtain rod. She then looks at me, like how do I get down now???

Yesterday she broke my light for one of the the fish tanks while I was feeding the fish :(

It's 101 and one in the day, and right now around 86 outside, and she's eating and drinking like crazy.

Her mom was on the thin side, and she seems to be the same.

VERY persistent...

Let's see. Al has knocked over modem, router, and hub. She also disconnected my computer from it's power supply, and, has turned off electrical stuff by stepping on the power strips on off with regularity.

Tea, is she ever going to get over this stage???

I am omnipresent
It took my cats about a year or year and a half. Now they're just mildly inquisitive, but no longer feel the need to chew on cables, play with reset buttons or knock things off of shelves (e.g. speakers, printers) in the search for more "lay out in the sun" room.

Lately she seems obsessed with getting outside, but when I take her outside, she gets next to me, and hides, or wants to be picked up.

She likes to sit in front of the window, and watch the golfers...

I took my cat on a walk (or atelst it followed me while I was walking the dogs) we went about 1/2 mile round trip. I was surprised.

My cat also likes to go outside. Mainly to watch the squirrels and birds I guess. The only thing it's brought back were little lizards though. (usually alive)

Wow, what a cutie!

She looks just like my friend Woof. (Tannin's owner. She's pretty nice.) But she behaves just like my other friend Ginger used to, till Woof clipped her over the ears and told her to settle down.

Yuck :excl: :excl:

The cat just caught a large moth, and is playing with it like it was a live mouse. Letting it go, catching it again, etc.

:puke-r:

Now she ate it....

Tiger ate a moth once. My mother didn't want to be kissed by her for a few weeks after that. Kimba used to chase and kill the roaches we had when we used to live in an apartment. He didn't eat them, though. Even he had his limits. He did like to eat flies. :puke-l:

Our dog caught a fly last night. Bit it, killed it, but didn't eat it. Fast little bitch.

The cat, however, couldn't care less about bugs.
