Somewhere in time.
I was considerably surprised by Tanin's and your silence on the subject, Tea. I was hoping you'd have the "inside scoop" on these unfortunate happenings since you're into birds / nature etc.

Mubs, I don't generally watch or read the news these days, there is so rarely anything of significance mentioned it doesn't seem like a sensible use of time. So if it wasn't for your post, I wouldn't have heard of this until a write-up of it appeared in one of the birding journals Tea was so scathing about, which will doubtless be a few months off yet.

By the way, I've been to Esperance, Christmas 2004 I was there, and it's a lovely area. Unfortunately, it's pretty flat and there was a near-gale force wind blowing the whole time I was there. (That was the year that the Sydney - Hobart racing yachts were turned into very expensive seabed litter, if I recall it right. Same wind.)

Sad, and quite bizarre. It sounds to me like a mass poisoning. We had some chickens who found some Diazinon (ant/grub/etc killer) very tasty. They died almost instantly after eating some of it.
