Another PayPal question...

To pay the auction I won this evening, I planned to use PayPal and pay from my banking account. Problem is : I forgot to confirm my banking account to PayPal earlier. The confirmation is supposed to take 2 or 3 business days and that delay will surely piss the seller. Last time I used PayPal, I paid with my credit card, but now it is kinda full because of the Holidays and I would rather not pay with it but directly from my banking account.

Question : Can I pay using PayPal immediately and then fix my PayPal deficit with my confirmed banking account some two or three days later (when my banking account is confirmed)? Or do I really have to confirm my banking account before thinking about using it to pay the auction?

I know everything looks like I'm trying to get negative feedback on this auction, but it really isn't the case. Seller wrote that he expects payment within 10 days, but I'm sure the sooner the better if I want to have positive feedback.

I'll take care of it for you, Coug. You can pay me whenever. I can xfer funds into your paypal account. They won't let you go into deficit.

I'm pretty sure that you need to confirm the bank account before you can send money directly from your bank. It shouldn't take that long to confirm if paypal has already sent the two small sums of money.

Otherwise 2 days really isn't that long and most sellers won't give negative feedback unless something really goes wrong with the auction, like you never pay at all or disappear completely.

If the seller says payment within ten days / week then that's perfectly acceptable. If he leaves you negative feedback for not paying within 10 days then leave him some back.

Just keep in constant contact with him and save all your e-mails. If I was the seller and you updated me at least once a day, or every other day, I'd feel a little more confident.

As timwhit mentioned, it doesn't take long to confirm the checking account. I think mine was overnight before they sent the two small payments of verification.

I don't even know if Mercutio will be able to send you the money until you are confirmed. I bought a script from a guy in the UK and he couldn't claim my money because he wasn't verified. We eventually worked out a deal where I bought him something in exchange, but the money was returned to me from paypal after something like 30 days.
