aw, that's a shame. that snake is a young red-bellied black snake.

I'm not surpised that one found it's way inside a PSU. they're a relatively common snake, found up an down most of the east coast of Ausltralia. they're quite dangerous too, easily capable of killing a small child however most adults will survive a bite, that is after suffering for few days. they make an adult very, very sick.

So far as snakes to be bitten by go, those are not too bad. The fangs are small, placed at the back of the jaw, and the poison is relatively benign. I would certainly rather be bitten by one of those than by a Brown, a Tiger, a Taipan, a Copperhead, or a Death Adder. Or for that matter, than by a Mamba, a Cobra, or a Rattlesnake, but being 10,000 miles away from those African, Indian and American fellows, I guess I'm reasonably safe - particularly as my reflexes are faster. Poor old Tannin might struggle though. He has the lightning reaction time of a hibernating three-toed sloth with a valium prescription.
