I am trying to move some VHS tapes to DVD. I've been able to 'capture' the video using WinDVD. What I would like to know is how large a hard drive will I need to capture a 2 hour VHS tape? 250GB enough?

If you stick at around 5000kbps MPEG2, 2 hours will be right about 4.5GB. If you're capping lossless AVI (e.g. HUFFYUV), you might hit 20GB/hour.

250GB is plenty for most people.

WinDVD has a program that takes VHS straight to DVD with minimal hard drive space required. Shame the program is $100.00. I'd sooner buy another hard drive.
