Bare-bones server ?!?

He obviously doesn't have pets or small children, or that wouldn't last two minutes. I didn't always keep the cover on my cases, but I do now, after my cat knocked over a full glass of soda onto my (thankfully) covered and running PC. I immediately shut it down, and even though it was covered, soda still managed to get inside the case, and onto my CD-RW and one of my hard drives. I carefully dried everything off, and it started back up again without any problems, but it gave me a big scare. If I wasn't in the room when the cat knocked over the glass, who know what would have happened.

I'd make one of those hard drive racks and put it in the living room... its nice decor.... just like I have the top cover of my 'Cuda IV that I accidentally killed last week (put a screw right through the inspection hole!) as a drinks coaster - its really rather good in fact, its got that silicon rubber seal on the bottom and grips the desk nicely

On a related note: For emergency or temporary usage only, I've occasionally used large empty CPU tower cases as SCSI hard drive towers. It worked quite well.
