Bladerunner is in all likelihood the best science fiction movie of all time (2001: A Space Odessey is probably second by most accounts). The amazing thing about Blade Runner is that it is a movie that defines a highly plausible future, then proceeds to ignore it completely to focus on what boils down to a film noir-style detective movie.

I understand another version of BR is about to be released on DVD, too.
