I'm looking for a decent CD audio recorder. Do they still exist, perhaps something in the $200-300 range? Thanks.

What's wrong with using a CD-R/W drive in a computer?

But, yes they still exist though I don't know anything about which ones are good or not.

There is no computer available nor understading of the operation for one in 80s.

I've owned one of these for 4 or 5 years now. It's definitely great for CD mastering work, but I would not recommend it for non-computer-literate octogenarians. ;-)

I thought about that one, but it seems a little pricey for the purpose. I also read some reviews (can't find the link) indicating that the Sony was unreliable. There is a fairly cheap one, the TEAC CD-RW880. I dunno.
