I'm looking to pick up a cheap scanner, which is small in size and not too expensive. I'm looking at the Canon LiDE 30, which is pretty cheap and it's small and it doesn't need a power adapter because it can be powered from USB. The only drawback I can see is that it is supposedly slow.

So is there a better scanner out there for $80? Or should I just pick this one up?

Hmmm the LiDE 50 is USB2.0. Maybe I should get that instead that would probably take care of the whole speed issue.

Thoughts?

I picked up the D5000F a while back & I like it. I would have bought the LiDE50 but it had yet to be released in the US. Now the LiDE80 is even out, although it's a little more $. A friend has the LiDE20 and has no issues other that the slow scanning speed.
