Compaq RAID controllers

What's the lowdown on these? Are they any good?

I ask because I can get these:
DUAL CHANNEL ULTRA320 CONTR. 64MB 2-CHAN
SMART ARRAY 641 ULTRA320 64MB 1-CH. RAID
COMPAQ SMART ARRAY 4200 4-channel. WU2

for cheaper prices than Adaptec (ASR-2120S(KIT)).

(SMART ARRAY 642 ULTRA320 64MB 2-CH. RAID this one is a bit more expensive than the Adaptec one)

Any info on these? I remember talks about these, but didn't find anything here yet...

Don't do it unless you also want to buy Compaq-branded drives with Compaq firmware. Performance is lousy otherwise, and then there's the whole "OEM equipment = no warranty" thing.

I have no experience with their RAID controllers, but with some Compaq NICs I had huge problems. You couldn't use them unless they were in a Compaq system. Phooey!
