My buddy has the following system:
AOpen AK79D-400VN Socket A NF2 Ultra
3x512MB=1.5GB RAM
AthlonXP 2500+ @ 3200+
Radeon All-in-Wonder
Fresh install of XP Home with all WindowsUpdates
Drivers are all the latest.
The system runs fine other than when he tries to do stuff that's video related. There's a fresh install of XP Home on it and he installed AOL. When he does some video stuff (just clips on AOL & stuff as far as I can gather) the system locks up.
The video card is new, he had a 9500NP Radeon before the fresh install (similar problems back then too). Any suggestions how to tackle trouble-shooting this or where to start?
I'm thinking I can adjust some AGP settings in the BIOS maybe? This is what I plan on trying (in the following order):
Stop overclocking
BIOS tweaks, maybe AGP voltage or something?
Pull some RAM
Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
C
