Hi
Does anyone know of a stand alone DVD player that you can attach to a home theatre system, that allows you to just plug a hard drive in, using USB 2, and read/play the movie off the hard drive?

Thanks

Greg

No, but there are a few that will play WMV, divx AVI or Nero Digital MP4 files that are burned to a DVD.

There are some TVs that allow you to plug a hard drive in to a USB port and playback files.

For example, this Pioneer model accepts a USB input as well as LAN.

I can't vouch for how well it works.

The Philips DVP5960 has a USB port and says it will play DivX files as well as MP3s and JPG files.

Here is a list of DVD devices with USB ports. I don't know if all of them will playback videos, but it might be a good place to start.

Depends on the format of the movies on the HD. If they're .ISO file, probably not. If they're ripped to .Vob files, maybe. Divx / xVid, sure...
