Is there enterprise software available to filter outgoing email messages and allow/drop them based on some content trigger.

It has come to my attention that "out of office" messages have a drawback based on the social engineering prospects of the message. But these messages do provide a benefit it is just when they leave the company that its a problem.

I would like to filter the email for a phrase in the subject line and drop emails with that phrase into a blackhole.

I am omnipresent
procmail on *nix can do that. I imagine you'd find a number of similar projects on freshmeat.net. Some of them might even work with Windows.

Exchange has some conditional filtering builtin as well (I don't pay much attention to my Exchange server, so I can't be much more specific).

Thanks.

Procmail was what I had found when I searched before I asked but I could not find solid evidence that it would filter outbound mail. Most everything I found pointed to using it as a spam filter for inbound mail.
